Year Round Haunted Attraction/Pirate Museum Business

This three element attraction business includes: Haunted Mayfield Manor & Pirates! Legends of Gulf Coast. Designed by Leonard Pickel and built by local craftsman under his guidance, each attraction has separate building entrance just off the main retail strip in Galveston Texas. Both attractions are currently open and operating year round with both individual and combo ticket pricing. Tickets for both attractions are available online or at the door. The business also includes a large gift shop area with ticketing and retail sales counter. Each of the walk through attractions has a separate interior entrance facade off of the gift shop and both are handicap accessible.

Built in the Fall of 2011 and operated for four and a half years, Haunted Mayfield Manor is a Victorian themed 1,500 sf haunted attraction with a story line that tied to local history. This 11 room fright attractions is designed to allow operation by as few as one to three actors in year round mode with a capacity of 50 to 150 people per hour, but can gear up to 200 plus people per hour in October mode using 10 -15 actors. Attraction includes 7 animations, props and scenic pieces.

Built in the Winter of 2012, side by side in the same building, Pirates! Legends of the Gulf Coast has been open for 4 years. Pirates! is a museum exhibit with 12 display areas, including the deck of a pirate ship complete with six canons. The educational information provides historical details on buccaneers and pirates that roamed the Caribbean in the 1800’s, focusing on Jean Lafitte a Gulf Coast privateer that was based for a time in Galveston, Texas. Pirates! operates both with and without a pirate host or two, who entertain school groups, senior citizen groups, and corporate team building events. Pirates! also hosts summer Pirate Day Camps for kids and pirate themed birthday parties for all ages.

Wall panels of both attractions are flame retardant. Fire extinguishers are located throughout the building and the building is fully sprinkled. Both building and attractions have multiple emergency exits as well as emergency and exit lighting. Electrical distribution for both attractions includes main service room with a bank of breakers. Haunt has a new compressor (2015) and each attractions has multiple speaker sound systems. Lighting in both attractions is 12 volt. Mayfield Manor has carpet flooring and Pirates! has wood flooring.

Condition of both attractions is excellent. The sale includes gift shop fixtures, current inventory at date of sale and costumes for both attractions; the Chad Savage designed web sites currently in use, URL’s and content as well as advertising graphics and logos; point of sale computer and office computer both with printers. All repair equipment, excess paints and all equipment used for operation of attractions, including chairs and tables in the party room.

These two attractions are timeless and could be run by an on-site owner which would reduce payroll. Owners are selling because of changing family responsibilities. Date Available for Purchase is immediate Current lease runs through June 2016.
